Disney’s Hollywood Studios®
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is adding a huge amount of entertainment based around the Star Wars franchise. One of the most awe inspiring attractions is the addition of a new nighttime fireworks celebration that features all sorts of special effects and video projections themed around the Star Wars universe. This is set to debut in June.
Kylo Ren and his First Order from Star Wars: The Force Awakens can be found roaming the park, making for a perfect photo opportunity. See characters from the entire Star Wars saga come together at the new “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” live stage show. Showcasing famous characters like Chewbacca, R2-D2, BB-8, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul, every Star Wars fan will have a great time.
In the Star Wars Launch Bay, fans get a close-up look at set props seen in the Star Wars movies. Marvel at the detailed costume designs. See in great detail Star Wars props, models, and artifacts. And watch behind-the-scenes video explaining the technical “magic” behind the illusion of hyperspace, interplanetary dogfights between tie fighters and x wing starfighters, and what’s next to come in the future of the Star Wars saga.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom®
The already well-established Kilimanjaro Safari ride is extending their operating hours to include nighttime tours, completely changing the feel of the attraction. The addition of hyenas and African wild dogs to the animal collection will also give riders a brand-new experience.
Summer 2016 will host a new show, “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic,” along Discovery River. This limited-engagement show highlights Disney’s live-action hit film The Jungle Book and its beloved classic songs.
Within Epcot, the Norway Pavilion is becoming the new home for Queen Elsa and Princess Anna of Frozen. The adventure begins with the guest being transported via a new boat ride attraction to Elsa’s ice palace in the kingdom of Arendelle. From there you will meet the royal sisters in a Royal Sommerhus—modeled after a Norwegian cabin.
